How Do I Add an Email Forwarder?

Email forwarders take email sent to a LinkSky hosted email address, such as yourname@yourdomain.com and forward it to a third-party hosted email address, such as yourname@gmail.com.

To add/create an email forwarder:

  1. Login to cPanel (or have the account owner login to cPanel)
  2. Click the "Forwarders" icon in the "Email" section
  3. Click the "Add Forwarder" button
  4. Enter the front portion of the email address you would like to the left of the @ in the "Address to Forward" field
  5. Select the domain you want the email address to be associated with in the "Domain" drop-down field
    • Note: If you only have 1 domain, then it will already be selected
  6. Enter your third-party hosted email address in the "Forward to Email Address" field
  7. Click "Add Forwarder"

Note: If you are trying to forward email to a third-party, publically available domain, such as @gmail.com, @yahoo.com, @aol.com, then we recommend adding/creating an email account instead of an email forwarder and setting it up in Gmail, Yahoo Mail, AOL Mail, etc., because these public email services use DMARC policies, which will cause most forwarded email to bounce.

See the following help articles to create an email account and then set it up in Gmail:
